My name is Polly, I’m very pleased you’re here.

I live in lovely Bristol with my equally lovely Boyfriend. I work in theatre, as a Stage Manager and I’ve always loved to write, one day I’d love to do that full time.

I started writing Little Blog (as I affectionately call it), in April 2014. About a month after my diagnoses of Breast Cancer and about 3 days post Lumpectomy. It was a scary time, especially as I’d lost my mum to Breast Cancer not so long ago.

I started writing late one evening, at about 11pm. I didn’t know what else to do. I shared that First Post on Facebook and people actually started to read it. This encouraged me to write more.

Then people started to share my blog with others and then something amazing happened; people started to write to me words of advice, words of thanks and with their stories. All of which continues to make me very happy, especially, if I’ve managed to inspire or help in some way.

Here you will find my musings on the lemons life gives me (and others), angry rants, practical advice and the occasional recipe. I can be a bit of a ‘Pollyanna’ and sometimes that comes pouring out too.

What started off as a factual record of events now has a mind of it’s own. I write as a way to demystify Cancer, to inform people in a non-scary way (I hope) of what life is like going through treatment and to encourage people to keep a close eye on their bodies too.

Mostly I write because it helps to keep me sane. I’m not an expert, I’m just someone living it.

Cancer is why I started blogging but I am not just the sum of my weird rogue cells. I also love to cook, eat, grow vegetables, experiment with make-up and sometimes be a bit crafty with wool and fabric. From time to time these all sneak onto Little Blog too.

I especially love stomping about my allotment, swimming outdoors, counting my Lucky Stars and encouraging others to do the same.

Thank you for stopping by and don’t forget to check your bits and bobs!
